H.P. Lovecraft is a great grand master of weird tales. Living a life through his writings and letters, his stories have unleashed aflood of imitations, so rich is his world and creations.
He achieves terror, and other emotions that hover on the edges of our understanding, through his understanding of that which is 'Alien' to humankind. He presents creatures and situations so foreign and alien to human uinderstanding that the only response available to man is shear horror.
His 'Cthulu Mythos' has spawned endless series and games.
And how can one forget Yogsoggoth?
